AEW Twin Lobe Roots Air Blowers are widely used in Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) for aeration tank applications. These blowers are positive displacement, oil-lubricated, air-cooled machines designed to deliver constant air volume at varying pressures, making them ideal for maintaining biological treatment efficiency in STPs.
The air blowers continuously inject atmospheric air into aeration tanks through diffusers or fine bubble aerators, enhancing oxygen transfer to microorganisms responsible for breaking down organic waste. Proper aeration supports aerobic microbial activity and helps reduce BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) levels in wastewater.
Installation Location: Install in a dry, ventilated blower room with vibration-dampening foundation.
Air Inlet Filtration: Use suction filters to ensure only clean air enters the blower to prevent contamination or clogging.
Discharge Connection: Connect the outlet to the aeration tank manifold via a non-return valve (NRV), rubber bellow, and pressure relief valve.
Drive Mechanism: Blowers can be driven via V-belt drive or direct coupling depending on application design.
Lubrication: AEW blowers are equipped with both-side oil-lubricated design for smooth operation and long life. Use recommended gear oil.
Control Panel: Operate using a starter panel with overload protection and auto-trip for motor safety.
Backpressure Handling: Ensure system pressure is maintained below the blower’s rated capacity to avoid overloading.
